Leicester City 1 Sheffield Wednesday 4, Saturday 2 December 2006
Just when you thought things couldn’t get much worse, Wednesday score another goal….
It started well enough, with Leicester dominating most of the first half and the visitors lacking confidence in front of their own goal. But then came the penalty. If that was a blow then the decision to send McCarthy off for a second “bookable” offence was a mortal wound. Not least because it was a bad decision. And while we were still fuming Sheffield Wednesday scored again. We never really recovered.
A short rally and a goal gave us a brief glimmer of hope, but a further Wednesday goal soon ended that. Then to ensure our defeat they score a fourth and the punishment was complete. Sadly it was a poor performance from a poor team. Things will need to get better if we are to stay in this division.
