We’re off to Stoke tomorrow to see the match. It’s bound to be freezing cold at the Britannia Stadium because for some reason, they didn’t bother to fill in the corners when they built it. The result is an icy wind that gets right through to your bones.
I’m a bit apprehensive given how badly Leicester have played in their last two matches. We really do need a decent performance. It’s even more important because I’m taking my Leicester supporting nephew (who was born and lives in Stoke). He’s yet to see a Leicester win.
Whatever the result, we’ll be out in Hanley on Saturday night enjoying the delights of the Chicago Rock Cafe. So that’s a hangover on Sunday then!

Israel 0 England 0, Saturday 24 March
Dear oh dear. This was tedious. An England team lacking direction, managed by a tactically inept coach. In fact so boring was this game that I had to make regular trips to the fridge for more beer. McClaren blames the players - sure they played without passion - but it’s his leadership that is supposed to inspire and motivate them. Quite honestly this proves he simply isn’t capable. Time for McClaren to go!

No Leicester game today but still plenty of footie on TV (Sky that is, or as I prefer to describe them, that bunch of money grabbing evil bastards with possibly the worst customer service ever!). In anticipation of England’s crucial match in Israel this evening, I started my viewing with the under 21 match against Italy at the newly re-built Wembley Stadium but now I’m hopping between Ireland against Wales and the world cup cricket.
Let’s hope that when we open the beer later we don’t see another crap display from England. If we do then McClaren should be sacked before he does any more damage.

Leicester City 1 Queens Park Rangers 3, Saturday 17 March
What can I say about this performance? Leicester were shit, total shit. That about sums it up! We were treated to a first half display that made the Leeds game look good; and in the second half it got even worse. Quite rightly they were booed off the pitch.
I’ve said before that we lack the quality to be anything other than mediocre. But this afternoon I was frankly ashamed at the performance. Like literally thousands of fellow sufferers, I left before the end. Something I never do! But clearly the mass exodus said it all. Indeed, I even missed our goal; but the derision of the fans at the final whistle was loud enough to be heard well along Burnmoor Street.
To put Leicester’s display into perspective, I should say that QPR were nothing special. It’s just that we were so very bad. Quite frankly I’m not sure why some players bothered to put their kit on. Jarret was absolutely crap. He should have been taken off in the first half rather than on 75 minutes when we were 3-0 down. As for the rest, they ranged from bad to appalling. Kelly should be made to account for why his team were so bad. I can’t say anything more - words fail me.

Leicester City 1 Leeds United 1, Tuesday 13 March
If this game confirmed one thing it was that Leicester simply lack the quality to be anything but a mediocre Championship side. The first 40 minutes of this match was dreadful. Crap passing, long balls, lack of movement. The whole arsenal of poor play was present. Leeds were equally bad. If they had been just half decent then they would have scored much earlier than they did.
The goal came on about 40 minutes after a dubious free kick was awarded against City keeper Paul Henderson. But the anger at the free kick and subsequent goal had barely subsided when Leicester responded. Leeds’s lead lasted about five seconds!
The second half was much better. Leicester had most of the play and should have done more with it. But some of the team were just sloppy (Maybury) while others lacked enthusiasm (Hughes). Fortunately Leeds never threatened, and it was our lack of ability and effort that led to the draw. As for that odious little shit Dennis Wise, he knows how we feel about him at Leicester, and as we made quite clear on the night, we’ll never play you again.

Crystal Palace 2 Leicester City 0, Saturday 10 March
We were about 260 miles away from Selhurst Park when this game kicked-off. It seems we were among the lucky ones. From what I’ve heard and read, Leicester were dismal; and anything other than a defeat would have been a complete shock. Fortunately the nature of Leicester’s defeat passed us by. We were keeping in touch via WAP on Mike’s mobile while drinking pints. If your team is going to lose, then being in a bar certainly softens the blow.

Southend 2 Leicester City 2, Saturday 3 March
Really disappointed. That about sums up how I feel after Leicester lost their concentration with the game almost over. In fact, if we had put away our chances then this would have been a comfortable three points. Instead we have to settle for a single point following Southend’s very late equaliser. I suppose I should be pleased that we are now firmly in mid-table, but given the recent run of form, failing to hold a 2-1 lead with just a couple of minutes left really hurts. Roll on the Palace game.
