A Cross Between Retro and Modern

28 May, 2007 · No Comments

Not so sure about this new kit. It seems like a cross between retro and modern that hasn’t quite worked. Plus it now comes with a tile company’s name across the front. I think it will take some getting used to.

What a Relief

28 May, 2007 · No Comments

What a relief. The new manager is not Neil Warnock! I don’t know much about Martin Allen but the very fact that he isn’t the arrogant, loud-mouthed, Leicester-hating, self-important, nasty, repulsive, odious, vile, offensive, foul, disgusting, loathsome, shit-faced Warnock, is all I need to know. I feel better now…

The Dullest Final In Ages

19 May, 2007 · No Comments

I’m sorry but I just can’t get excited about it. Manchester United against Chelsea. Two nasty managers, two elitest, media-hyped over-paid teams that I am not in the remotest bit interested. I couldn’t give a stuff who wins becuase the ideal result, both teams losing, simply isn’t possible. It will be the first FA cup final in ages that I wont see, the dullest one in ages.

Warnock Warning

16 May, 2007 · No Comments

Sheffield United get relegated and we all have a good laugh at Warnock’s expense. Next thing we hear is Warnock resigns and suddenly the BBC are speculating that he may become Leicester’s manager. Oh shit.

Time For Gloating Over

16 May, 2007 · No Comments

So Southampton will be playing Championship football for at least one more season. I can’t say I’m disappointed. I have a brother, dad, uncle and cousin who have been taking every opportunity to gloat about Southampton beating us this season (and whenever Southampton win to be honest). But they can’t take penalties it seems. Perhaps now my family will keep quiet.

Going Down

11 May, 2007 · No Comments

Leeds are going down. I feel sorry for their fans, but I really don’t care how their manager takes it. Here’s my message to him: “You’re so shit it’s unbelievable.” Fellow Leicester fans please feel free to join in…

A Pathetic End

8 May, 2007 · No Comments

Leicester City 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers 4, Sunday 6 May 2007

What can I say? This should have been the happy ending we all wanted but instead was a pathetic reminder of just how bad some Leicester players really are. We started well enough. A fantastic goal from Hume sent me and thousands more into near earth orbit, but re-entry was particularly painful. Leicester’s defence had chosen a new fashion item - imaginary blindfolds. It meant that Wolves could come forward without fear of being marked or tackled, and while our defenders flapped, the visitors scored twice.

But rather than re-organise, the response was “repeat the same old crap that nearly got us relegated this season”. So we had the pleasure of aimless long balls, no midfield, no movement and no chance of ever scoring. Add in a card happy referee and you can imagine how frustrating the game had become.

Sadly the second half was no better. Wolves always looked the stronger team, and maybe should have scored a couple more before we actually scored one for them. The final misery was a penalty that looked all too easy. With less than 10 minutes to go we introduced Cadamarteri and Porter and things improved, but it was too late to make any difference. At the final whistle, most fans seemed in a hurry to leave not wanting to wait for the players “lap of appreciation”. I was one of the leavers!
