Corruption, Conspiracy, Fraud….

Just when it looks like things might settle down for Leicester City, Milan Mandaric is arrested. Yes I know supporting the foxes can be quite a roller coaster ride, but conspiracy and false accounting?

Warm Welcome

27 November, 2007 · 1 Comment

Leicester City 0 Cardiff City 0, Monday 26 November 2007

I came back from holiday on Sunday to find we have a new manager with a win already in the bag. Great stuff!

Not surprisingly there was a warm welcome for Ian Holloway at the Walkers stadium when he took charge of his first game at home. With free matchday tickets made available to season ticket holders, some 27,000 turned up to watch, and although the first half was a little tedious, Leicester’s second half performance was worth waiting for.

Indeed, despite some interesting decisions by the referee (prompting the two blokes behind me to invent some far-fetched conspiracy theory and over use that word rhyming with banker) Leicester improved as the game went on. Towards the end it seemed certain that we’d score, but some good goalkeeping, goal line clearances and the goal post itself all prevented a Leicester victory.

At the end of the match, a goalless draw didn’t seem such a bad result. Indeed, Ian Holloway described it as the “best 0-0 draw he’d ever seen”. On his past record, this wasn’t one of his greatest “Ollyisms” but I’m sure there will be plenty more to come. In the meantime, some of his classics can be found on Wikipedia.

All At Sea

Still on a ship, and somewhat out of touch with the world of Leicester City due to costly and slow internet connection. If it wasn’t for the warm weather, food and drink I’d be feeling really lost. But heh, I’m on holiday…

On A Ship

8 November, 2007 · No Comments

Colchester 1 Leicester City 1, Saturday 3 November 2007

I was on a ship in Southampton when this game was being played. P&O, in their wisdom, decided to show the Liverpool game rather than ours. I therefore had to rely upon text messages to find out what was going on. So what can I say? It was another point.

The ship is now in the Atlantic, and I’m still on it. It means that I will miss Saturday’s match so I better get texting.
