Too Much To Take

1 May, 2008 · 2 Comments

I can’t say I’m excited about an all English Champions League final. This is mainly because I wanted Barcelona to beat Man Utd. To some people I may seem unpatriotic, but it’s all a matter of credibility. Like many football fans I really don’t like United. So why should I suddenly want them to win just because they are playing a team from another country? It would be hypocritical.

I therefore empathise with all those who found ITV’s glorification of the team in red just a little too much to take on Tuesday night. If I do bother to watch the final I’ll tune in to Sky.

PS…. And I wanted Liverpool to beat Chelsea.

I wanted Barca to beat ManUre too. I was convinced that Barca would have scored at least.

I know I am amongst friends so can admit to a secret admiration for ManUre but I too had a hope Barca would win on Tuesday. AF gets on my nerves somewhat . I’d like to have seen Liverpool go through tho I do think Grant has had bad press and deserves a break.
And all of it pales into insignificance in terms of how much I want Leicester to survive this season
